Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca has urged Cole Palmer to stay positive and keep enjoying his football despite failing to score in the Blues’ 4-0 victory over Southampton.

Palmer, who has been one of Chelsea’s standout performers this season, missed several chances on the night but remained influential in the team’s dominant display.

Speaking to BBC Match of the Day, Maresca backed the young attacker to find his scoring touch again soon:

“He has to continue to work, continue to be happy, continue to laugh the way he does.

“It is normal to go through a moment where you struggle to score but it doesn’t matter. Just continue and you are going to score many goals.”

With Chelsea climbing back into the top four, Maresca remains confident that Palmer will soon rediscover his goal-scoring form.
