Southampton manager Ivan Juric has heaped praise on Chelsea ahead of their upcoming clash, acknowledging the significant challenge his team faces despite the Blues’ recent struggles. While Chelsea have suffered back-to-back defeats, Juric insists they remain a top-quality side with a squad full of talent.

“They lost their last game but there is a huge difference between us. They are an incredible team with incredible players. They have had two bad results but they are great, so we have to play well,” Juric said, highlighting Chelsea’s strength even in difficult times.

The Southampton boss also pointed out the depth in Chelsea’s squad, something he believes gives them a major advantage. “It’s not easy at the moment. It is much easier for them than it is for us because they have 20 great players. So if they are missing one player, they can just replace them – so it’s a completely different situation to us.”

Juric’s comments reflect the level of respect Chelsea still command, despite inconsistent performances under Enzo Maresca. While Southampton will look to exploit Chelsea’s weaknesses, Juric is under no illusions about the quality his team will be up against.
