Filip Jorgensen’s mistake at Villa Park was just the latest in a growing list of costly errors by Chelsea players this season. The 22-year-old is not alone, as fellow goalkeeper Robert Sanchez has also been responsible for multiple blunders leading to goals.

Surprisingly, even attacking star Cole Palmer has contributed to Chelsea’s defensive woes, having been at fault for one goal this campaign. While Palmer wasn’t directly responsible for either of the goals conceded against Aston Villa, he missed a golden opportunity to score when the game was tied at 1-1.

The frustration among Chelsea players is evident, with Palmer also misplacing a crucial pass that could have set up Christopher Nkunku for a goal, prompting an angry reaction from the Frenchman. 

The mood in the squad appears tense, and unless these mistakes are cut out, Chelsea’s hopes of securing Champions League football could slip away.
