João Félix has admitted he was determined to join AC Milan, revealing that he “pushed hard” to make the move happen while expressing his admiration for Brazilian legend Kaka.

The Portuguese forward left Chelsea on loan in January after a frustrating spell at Stamford Bridge, where he struggled for regular game time. Now thriving in Serie A, Félix has spoken about his excitement at playing for Milan and the inspiration he draws from one of the club’s greatest players.

Speaking about his desire to move to the Rossoneri, Félix told Sky Sports:

“I pushed hard to come here. I want to give my all for this club.”

The 25-year-old also highlighted his admiration for AC Milan boss Sergio Conceição, praising his leadership:

“I already knew [AC Milan boss Sergio] Conceição. His passion is contagious. And winning is essential.”

However, it was Kaka who played a key role in shaping Félix’s footballing aspirations, as the Portuguese playmaker revealed:

“Kaka has always been my idol. I saw myself in him and tried to imitate him.”

Félix has already started making an impression at Milan, scoring on his debut in a 3-1 win over Roma. His reception from the Milan fanbase has been overwhelmingly positive, something he deeply appreciates:

“The fans’ warmth has been incredible, I want to make them happy.”

With his Chelsea future uncertain, Félix seems to be relishing his time in Milan, and if he continues to impress, a permanent transfer could be on the cards.
