Former Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel has delivered a scathing assessment of Jadon Sancho’s performances since joining the Blues on loan from Manchester United, expressing his frustration over the winger’s inconsistent form.

Sancho, who arrived at Stamford Bridge with high expectations, initially impressed but has since struggled, managing just one goal in 12 appearances. Mikel did not hold back in his criticism, questioning the Englishman’s impact.

“Jadon Sancho came in and deceived us with a couple of games, and we thought, ‘fu*king hell, we are getting the Sancho from Dortmund,’ but he’s gone again,” Mikel said.

The former Chelsea midfielder further lamented Sancho’s lack of consistency, suggesting that the winger has faded into obscurity since his early promising displays.

“I don’t know what happened to him, but he has disappeared off the grid,” Mikel added.

Sancho’s loan deal includes an obligation for Chelsea to sign him permanently for a reported fee of £20-25 million if they finish 14th or higher in the Premier League. However, Mikel’s comments hint that the club may be reconsidering the deal due to his lacklustre performances.

With the season entering a crucial phase, the pressure is mounting on Sancho to step up and justify Chelsea’s potential investment. Mikel’s criticism will only add to the scrutiny surrounding the winger as he looks to make an impact in the remaining games.
