Chelsea’s inconsistent performances have sparked frustration among fans, with many calling for Enzo Maresca’s dismissal. However, some supporters argue that the club must abandon the cycle of sacking managers and instead build a long-term project.
One fan, Nature2Love, strongly believes that Chelsea needs to break free from the constant managerial changes, insisting that the strategy no longer works.
“The rinse and repeat of hiring and firing coaches no longer works, in my opinion. We keep trying this and failing. Utd keep doing it and failing. Tottenham have tried it and failed,” the fan wrote.
Pointing to other Premier League clubs that have benefited from stability, the fan highlighted how Arsenal, Manchester City, Liverpool, and even Newcastle have built long-term projects and are now seeing the rewards.
“Arsenal, City, Liverpool, and to a smaller extent Newcastle have stuck with a solid structure and now they are reaping the rewards, especially City and Liverpool. Arsenal fans wanted Arteta gone, but they stuck with him and the past two seasons they have been challenging, and haven’t got closer due to less than ideal decisions made by the higher-ups.”
Nature2Love also referenced how Pep Guardiola and Jürgen Klopp faced early struggles but were given time to build dominant teams.
“City stuck with Pep despite a rocky first season early on, and Liverpool the same. We can’t keep hiring and firing coaches, expecting things to drastically change. We need a solid and efficient structure.”
With Chelsea still adjusting under Maresca, some fans believe patience is necessary for long-term success, rather than another managerial reset.
