‘For his age, he is stronger than his peers’ – Chelsea’s new wonderkid signing already being monitored by another team’s coach

Chelsea’s latest teenage signing, Dastan Satpayev, is already being monitored by Kazakhstan’s senior national team, according to former coach Stanislav Cherchesov.

Satpayev, 16, officially joined Chelsea last week from Kairat but will only move to London when he turns 18 next year. Despite his young age, he has already caught the attention of his country’s senior setup.

Cherchesov, who recently stepped down as Kazakhstan’s head coach, revealed in an interview with Metaratings that Satpayev had been closely followed during his time at Kairat.

“Naturally, we know this guy, watched him play at Kairat and often talked with his coaching staff,” Cherchesov said.

“But everything has its time, and we wanted him to take the first steps in the main team at Kairat.”

The former Russia manager praised Satpayev’s physical attributes and goal-scoring ability, which have made him stand out among his peers.

“The fact that a guy with certain abilities is visible. It’s just that you won’t score so many goals, but physically for his age, he is stronger than his peers,” he added.

Kazakhstan’s national team is keen to track his progress, with Cherchesov stressing the importance of monitoring young talents like Satpayev.
