Bayern Munich are expected to reignite their interest in Christopher Nkunku at the end of the season, with Chelsea reportedly open to selling the French forward this summer.
The 27-year-old was heavily linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge in the January transfer window, with reports suggesting he even agreed personal terms with the Bundesliga giants at one stage. However, Chelsea’s £70 million valuation proved a stumbling block, preventing a mid-season exit.
Despite not being a guaranteed starter under Enzo Maresca, Nkunku has still managed to impress, netting 13 goals in 31 appearances across all competitions. His prolific form has kept Bayern interested, with new manager Vincent Kompany identifying him as a key target for the 2025/26 campaign.
According to GiveMeSport, Chelsea are now “very open” to cashing in on Nkunku this summer, and Bayern are preparing to revisit negotiations. The Frenchman’s wages—£195,000 per week—could also play a role in Chelsea’s willingness to offload him.
With Bayern’s hierarchy reportedly keen on securing his signature, all eyes will be on Chelsea’s summer plans and whether they see Nkunku as part of their long-term future.
