Chelsea are reportedly in pole position to secure the signature of FC Copenhagen’s rising star Roony Bardghji, as the 19-year-old attracts attention from some of Europe’s biggest clubs.
According to Mundo Deportivo, as many as 13 clubs across Europe’s top leagues are tracking the Swedish winger, despite his absence from the pitch this season due to a knee injury suffered in May last year. Bardghji has recently returned to training with Copenhagen, reigniting interest in his potential move.
In Spain, both Atlético Madrid and Barcelona have expressed interest in the young talent, with Atlético reportedly making an attempt to sign him in the January transfer window. The Premier League is also well represented in the race, with Manchester City, Manchester United, Aston Villa, Brighton, and Newcastle United all monitoring Bardghji’s progress alongside Chelsea.
Germany’s Bayern Munich and reigning Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen are also in the mix, while Olympique Marseille from France and Italian clubs Atalanta and Juventus have shown interest as well.
Despite the stiff competition, Mundo Deportivo reports that Chelsea currently lead the chase for Bardghji, positioning themselves as the frontrunners to secure the promising winger’s signature. The Blues’ proactive approach in the transfer market and their focus on young talent could give them the edge in bringing Bardghji to Stamford Bridge.
