Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has shared his thoughts following the Blues’ disappointing 2-1 defeat to Brighton in the FA Cup fourth round, highlighting the team’s response after falling behind.

Despite conceding a second goal that sealed Chelsea’s exit from the competition, Maresca praised his side’s efforts to fight back. “After we concede the second goal, we had three or four chances to score, so the reaction was there,” he noted, emphasising the team’s resilience.

Maresca also acknowledged the unpredictable nature of football, pointing out that each match presents different challenges. “Every game is different. In terms of reaction, after the second goal we concede, the reaction was there,” he reiterated.

While the Blues created opportunities late in the game, they were unable to find the equalizer, ending their FA Cup journey. Maresca will now look to refocus his squad as they shift their attention to the Premier League and Conference League.
