Chelsea coach Enzo Maresca has expressed his frustration after both Nicolas Jackson and Marc Guiu sustained injuries in the same match, dealing a double blow to the Blues’ attacking options.
Maresca attributed the unfortunate situation to sheer misfortune. “It’s bad luck that in the same game, two strikers both have an injury,” he stated, highlighting the rare and frustrating nature of the setback.
The Chelsea boss also took a moment to praise young striker Marc Guiu, whose development has impressed the coaching staff. “It’s a shame for Marc,” Maresca said. “The reason why Marc was still here in January and we didn’t decide to [loan] him was because I can see, day by day, that he is growing, improving, getting better.”
With both Jackson and Guiu sidelined, Chelsea will be hoping for quick recoveries as they navigate the remainder of their Premier League and Conference League campaigns.
