Joao Felix’s deadline day loan move to AC Milan could signal the end of his Chelsea career, with reports from Teamtalk suggesting the 25-year-old has likely played his last game for the Blues.
Felix had been in direct competition with Christopher Nkunku for a potential exit, but with Nkunku remaining at Stamford Bridge, it was Felix who secured the loan move to Serie A.
While Felix is still under contract with Chelsea until 2031, his future at the club remains uncertain.
The loan spell at Milan presents an opportunity for the Portuguese forward to raise his market value, and if he impresses in Italy, Chelsea could look to capitalise with a profitable sale in the summer.
For one, if Joao Felix impresses on loan with AC Milan, he wouldn’t want to return to Chelsea and sit on the bench again. If he doesn’t impress at Milan, he’d also seek a move to improve his game time at Chelsea.
Enzo Maresca failed to find a spot for Felix in the Chelsea team, and the Portuguese barely got a chance to fight for a spot, with Maresca permanently placing him behind Cole Palmer.
Though his Stamford Bridge chapter isn’t officially closed, all signs point toward Felix’s time in a Chelsea shirt being over.
