Chelsea chairman Todd Boehly has been linked to Vivid Seats, a US-based ticket resale platform accused of facilitating the unauthorised sale of Premier League tickets to international buyers at inflated prices.

The platform, which Boehly co-owns, is listed as an unauthorised reseller by the Premier League and has reportedly enabled the resale of Chelsea tickets for tens of thousands of pounds. While UK fans are legally prohibited from reselling match tickets, Vivid Seats allegedly allows overseas users to list them, taking a 10% commission on sales.

This revelation has outraged Chelsea fans, who accuse Boehly of profiting from a practice the club publicly condemns—a stance that has led to sanctions for supporters caught engaging in ticket touting.

In response, Vivid Seats insists it complies with local laws and denies marketing Premier League tickets to UK customers. However, high-profile matches—such as Liverpool’s potential title-decider—remain available on the platform at extreme prices.

The scandal raises fresh concerns over ticket availability for general admission fans, with Chelsea supporters fearing that growing resale practices will further restrict their access to matches at affordable prices.
