Jamie Carragher has issued a warning to Chelsea despite their 2-1 comeback victory over West Ham on Monday night, expressing doubts about their current form and Champions League hopes.
The former Liverpool defender believes the Blues are not at their best and could struggle to secure a top-four finish unless they improve.
Carragher stated: “Going to Chelsea is a tough game, there’s a rivalry between the two teams. This isn’t the best Chelsea team we’ve seen and they’re not in the best form.”
Carragher also suggested that West Ham manager Graham Potter would feel disappointed not to have taken anything from the game after leading at halftime.
“In some ways, being 1-0 up at half-time, with Chelsea going through a rough patch, I think Graham Potter will be disappointed they haven’t come away with something from the game.”
The Sky Sports pundit reinforced his concerns about Chelsea’s Champions League aspirations, urging them to find consistency.
“Chelsea need to get into better form or they will miss out on the Champions League.”
With the Blues battling for a top-four finish, Carragher’s comments reflect the growing pressure on Enzo Maresca’s side to deliver results in the final stretch of the season.
