Mohamed Salah Breaks Frank Lampard’s Premier League Record

Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah has ascended to sixth place on the Premier League’s all-time goalscoring list, surpassing Chelsea legend Frank Lampard. Salah achieved this milestone by netting both goals in Liverpool’s 2-0 victory over Bournemouth on Saturday, bringing his Premier League tally to 178 goals.

The Egyptian forward opened the scoring with a 30th-minute penalty, awarded after a foul on Cody Gakpo. He later sealed the win with a signature left-footed curler past goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga in the 75th minute.

This accomplishment comes just a week after Salah surpassed Thierry Henry to claim the seventh spot on the all-time list. Now, with 178 goals, he has moved ahead of Lampard’s 177 goals, solidifying his position among the Premier League’s elite scorers.

Salah’s remarkable consistency has been a cornerstone of Liverpool’s success. He has scored at least 20 goals in each of the last eight seasons, a testament to his enduring quality and importance to the team.

As of now, the top five Premier League all-time goalscorers are:

  1. Alan Shearer – 260 goals
  2. Harry Kane – 213 goals
  3. Wayne Rooney – 208 goals
  4. Andy Cole – 187 goals
  5. Sergio Agüero – 184 goals
