‘The time has come’ – Enzo Maresca told to drop struggling Chelsea player. Not Nicolas Jackson

Former Chelsea defender Jason Cundy has called on Enzo Maresca to drop Robert Sanchez from the starting lineup, insisting the goalkeeper’s repeated mistakes are putting the team at risk.

Chelsea have endured a rough spell in the Premier League, winning just one of their last seven matches, and concerns over Sanchez’s form have continued to grow.

Speaking on talkSPORT, Cundy made his stance clear: “Personally, I would take him (Sanchez) out of the firing line. I think the time has come because there is so much noise.”

The 27-year-old Spaniard has been under scrutiny for multiple errors this season, and Cundy believes Maresca must act before things worsen.

“Maresca is being asked pretty much every press conference, whether it be post-match or pre-match, he’s being asked about this. The errors are coming, and the errors are costly.”

Despite Chelsea boasting a deep squad, Maresca has remained loyal to a core group of players, including Sanchez. However, with growing pressure and calls for a change, Filip Jorgensen could be given a chance to step in.

The Blues host West Ham on Monday night, and all eyes will be on Maresca’s team selection to see whether he sticks with Sanchez or makes the bold decision to drop him.

  1. This is because is using his mistake to buying himself time as well, no good coach will continue with Sanchez.. any winner would’ve dropped him long ago..
