Aston Villa have submitted a formal loan bid to Chelsea for French defender Axel Disasi, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Villa are prepared to pay a loan fee to Chelsea, with the London club covering a portion of Disasi’s salary during his potential loan spell.
Disasi has reportedly agreed to personal terms with Aston Villa regarding a move to Villa Park. Despite joining Chelsea in the summer, the 25-year-old has struggled for regular first-team minutes this season, making just six Premier League appearances. He has fallen behind defenders such as Tosin Adarabioyo, Josh Acheampong, and Trevoh Chalobah in the squad’s pecking order.
Given his limited game time at Stamford Bridge, Disasi is said to be open to the move, which would offer him more regular football. Aston Villa’s interest provides him with an opportunity to secure more playing time and further his development.
With the transfer window drawing to a close, both Chelsea and Villa will look to finalise the terms of the deal. The move would benefit all parties, with Disasi gaining more exposure in the Premier League and Villa adding a solid defensive option to their squad.
