Former Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel has raised doubts about the club’s ability to compete for the Premier League title with Robert Sanchez and Nicolas Jackson in the squad.
Mikel, a fan favourite during his time at Stamford Bridge, didn’t hold back in his assessment of the team’s current prospects.
“Sanchez is not that goalkeeper, and Jackson is not that striker that will get us to win the league,” Mikel stated.
“Top four, they might get, but to win the league, to put us where we belong, they are not that people.”
He further criticised Sanchez, referencing a recent mistake by the goalkeeper: “And for me, he showed that again, Sanchez with that mistake. What are you doing? Rushing out? I know if you call Peter Cech now, private, he will tell you the same thing, but I’m the only person who’s coming out to say it.”
Mikel’s comments highlight concerns about Chelsea’s ability to restore their dominance in the Premier League with their current roster.
