Player Ratings: See how Robert Sanchez and Nicolas Jackson were rated as Chelsea struggle in Man City defeat

Chelsea’s 3-1 defeat to Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium exposed individual errors and underwhelming performances from several players. Here’s a breakdown of the ratings:

Robert Sanchez – 3

Another game, another costly Sanchez mistake. Sanchez was poor for the first goal and directly at fault for the winner, adding to his growing list of errors this season.

Levi Colwill – 4

Struggled to cope with Erling Haaland, especially for City’s third goal. His defensive struggles were compounded by a booking for time-wasting.

Cole Palmer – 4.5

Not his best outing against his former club. A heavy pass to Nicolas Jackson squandered a golden chance to double Chelsea’s lead early on.

Nicolas Jackson – 5

Contributed well to Noni Madueke’s goal but failed to capitalise on his own scoring opportunity. Subbed off after 60 minutes.

Noni Madueke – 5

Scored Chelsea’s only goal with a simple tap-in but failed to maintain defensive discipline for City’s equaliser. His influence waned as the game progressed.

Christopher Nkunku – 5

Came off the bench for the last 30 minutes but failed to impress in the No.9 role, continuing to look uncomfortable in Maresca’s system.

Other notable performances:

Reece James – 5.5

Trevoh Chalobah – 5.5

Marc Cucurella – 5.5

Moises Caicedo – 6 (the standout performer in a poor Chelsea display)

Enzo Fernandez – 5.5

Jadon Sancho – 5

Gusto and Neto – n/a

Chelsea’s inability to convert key chances and defensive lapses continue to cost them, with performances like this leaving much to be desired.
