Chelsea defender Marc Cucurella has sparked fresh speculation over Alejandro Garnacho’s potential move to Stamford Bridge by ‘liking’ an Instagram post about the Blues’ pursuit of the Manchester United winger.

The 20-year-old Argentine has been heavily linked with Chelsea as the January transfer window nears its deadline.

Reports suggest Chelsea are preparing an opening bid, with the player reportedly open to a move.

According to The Telegraph, Chelsea are now “lining up an opening bid before the January window closes to bring the 20-year-old to Stamford Bridge.”

Football transfers expert Fabrizio Romano provided an update on Instagram, stating:

*”Chelsea are now set to approach Man United for Alejandro Garnacho deal.

“Man United insisting on huge transfer fee around €70m to sell him. Chelsea make formal approach as planned.

“Napoli remain interested and attentive even after initial €50m package bid rejected, but talks are now ongoing for Adeyemi too as exclusively revealed on Tuesday.”*

Cucurella’s interaction with the post quickly caught the attention of Chelsea fans, further intensifying the rumours.

One fan commented on Reddit:

“I think it’s pretty safe to say that it’s on course to happen. United need the money, we want him, he wants us, and there is nobody else coming in for him. It’s bound to get done but please just not silly money.”

While Napoli, another club linked to Garnacho, appears to have shifted focus to other targets, Chelsea’s interest seems to have gained significant momentum.

With Manchester United reportedly holding out for a €70m fee, the coming days will determine whether Chelsea can secure Garnacho’s signature before the transfer window slams shut.
