Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has highlighted his team’s impressive away form as a source of confidence heading into their Premier League encounter with Manchester City on Saturday.
While the Blues have struggled to dominate at Stamford Bridge, Maresca believes their results on the road reflect a well-balanced side.
Maresca emphasized the significance of Chelsea’s performances away from home, saying:
“It probably shows how balanced we are. Everyone is talking we get more points away than at home. I don’t think the difference is big. Hopefully in the future we can get more points at home – this is the target. But overall, I think it’s something good because of the balance.”
The Chelsea manager also reflected on Chelsea’s results against the Premier League’s top six so far this season:
“I think if you see the top six in this moment, we beat Bournemouth away, we beat Newcastle at home, we drew with Arsenal and lost to City and Liverpool. It is a matter of balance. We are going to beat the big teams, for sure, but winning tomorrow doesn’t mean we will challenge for the title.”
As Chelsea prepare for the challenge of facing City at the Etihad, Maresca’s measured perspective underscores the importance of consistency as the Blues look to make their mark this season.
