Personal terms agreed. Chelsea set to smash transfer record with this signing

Chelsea are on the verge of making history by completing the first $1 million transfer in women’s football.

The Blues are set to sign USA centre-back Naomi Girma from San Diego Wave for a record-breaking fee of $1.1 million.

The 24-year-old defender has reportedly agreed to personal terms and is expected to undergo her medical this week. This move will surpass the previous record of $860,000, paid by Bay FC to sign forward Racheal Kundananji from Madrid CEF in February.

Chelsea also held the record for the most expensive signing by an English women’s club, spending over $450,000 on Colombian striker Mayra Ramírez last January. With the signing of Girma, the Blues continue to demonstrate their ambition and commitment to dominating the women’s game.
