Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca has again defended goalkeeper Robert Sanchez following a mistake that led to Wolves’ goal in their recent match.
The error marked Sanchez’s fourth of the season to result in a goal, but Maresca was quick to highlight the keeper’s overall contributions.
When questioned about the mistake, Maresca responded: “You said it was the fourth mistake? OK, and how many times did he save us? More than four.”
The Italian coach downplayed the incident, emphasising that errors are part of the game for all players.
“Mistakes happen to him, the strikers, the midfielders,” he said.
Expressing his confidence in Sanchez, Maresca concluded: “So, no problem. It happens. He is doing well.”
Enzo Maresca has maintained an unwavering support and trust in his first-choice goalkeeper.
