Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca has provided an update on the injuries to Romeo Lavia and Enzo Fernandez, revealing both players picked up problems during the recent match against Bournemouth.
When asked about the extent of the injuries, Maresca admitted:
“Romeo’s [injury] is more important than Enzo. We don’t know yet how long they are going to be out. Hopefully not too long.”
The Chelsea boss shed light on the nature of the injuries, suggesting both were muscular issues:
“Muscle fatigue or muscle problem. We need to wait a little bit.”

Maresca also clarified that the injuries were not training-related but occurred during the Bournemouth clash.
He explained: “No. Both were against Bournemouth. The Romeo one was the yellow card, I don’t know if you remember the yellow card. Enzo, against Bournemouth, was 92 or 93 minutes, just the last minutes of the game.”
Chelsea fans will now await further updates on the duo’s recovery timelines, hoping for positive news as the team battles through a demanding schedule.
