Chelsea returned to winning ways with an impressive 3-1 victory over Wolves at Stamford Bridge, ending a five-game Premier League winless streak. The Blues, under Enzo Maresca, climbed back to fourth place, leapfrogging Manchester City, whom they face at the Etihad this weekend.

Despite key absences, including Enzo Fernandez, Levi Colwill, and Romeo Lavia, Chelsea delivered a strong performance. Trevoh Chalobah, recalled early from his loan at Crystal Palace, was thrust into the starting lineup alongside captain Reece James and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, who made his first Premier League start since joining from Leicester.

Chelsea dominated the opening exchanges, with Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Cole Palmer causing problems for the Wolves’ defence. However, it was Tosin Adarabioyo who broke the deadlock, converting a scrappy corner situation after a VAR review confirmed his goal. Wolves hit back just before halftime as a Robert Sanchez mistake allowed Matt Doherty to equalise.

In the second half, Marc Cucurella restored Chelsea’s lead with a composed finish after a clever flick-on from Dewsbury-Hall. Minutes later, Noni Madueke sealed the win, tapping in from close range following Chalobah’s assist during a set-piece.

Wolves threatened late but couldn’t prevent Chelsea from comfortably securing three points, bolstering their bid for Champions League qualification. Maresca will hope to have key players back for the critical clash against Manchester City.
