Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has firmly defended Pedro Neto and Marc Cucurella amid criticism of their on-field behaviour.
Speaking in his recent press conference, Maresca dismissed suggestions that the pair’s actions were embarrassing, instead directing attention to officiating decisions.
When asked about the criticism, Maresca said: “No, not at all. The other day for me against Bournemouth it was a red card. We are not going to change a thing.”
The Chelsea boss continued to back his players, stating: “So the club, us, we are not embarrassed about this. Someone has to be embarrassed about this kind of thing, but not us. I love my players, all of them.”
Maresca’s strong defence highlights his commitment to his squad as Chelsea navigate a challenging period, standing by his players while calling for accountability in other areas of the game.
