Chelsea’s recent dip in form, marked by a five-game winless run, has raised concerns about the club’s title ambitions.
However, former Blues midfielder Emmanuel Petit believes that Cole Palmer’s performances and leadership on the pitch should serve as a beacon for the rest of the squad.
“Top clubs always have one or two players they rely on more than the rest. You need exceptional players who can change the game and make decisions on the pitch. Cole Palmer is one of them,” Petit said.
The Frenchman emphasised Palmer’s influence in the dressing room and on the field, urging his teammates to follow the young star’s example.
“He should be an example for the rest of his teammates in the dressing room. They have to follow his lead. They have to follow the way he takes responsibility in games,” he added.
Highlighting Palmer’s impact this season, Petit declared him Chelsea’s talisman.
“Cole Palmer is so important for Chelsea because he’s the talisman of this team. He’s young, has huge personal ambition, and that’s something every manager wants in the dressing room,” Petit concluded.
Palmer’s impressive record of 14 goals and 6 assists in 23 matches this season underscores his vital role in the team, providing hope for Chelsea to turn their fortunes around.
