Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has provided a clear indication of Cesare Casadei’s immediate future, admitting that the talented midfielder may need to leave the club to find regular first-team football.
Speaking about Casadei’s situation, Maresca said:
“For him, probably in this moment, the idea is not to allow him to play some minutes in case there is any opportunity for him to go and play. At this moment, this is the best thing for him.”
Casadei, a box-to-box midfielder known for his impressive physicality and technical skills, has found opportunities at Stamford Bridge limited this season. Despite his potential, the fierce competition for places has restricted him to just six appearances across all competitions.
With the transfer window deadline on February 3 fast approaching, the focus now shifts to whether a suitor will secure a deal for the 21-year-old.
A move could provide Casadei with the regular game time needed to continue his development, a step both Maresca and Chelsea fans believe would benefit the player’s career.
