Peter Crouch has compared Chelsea’s Cole Palmer to former Arsenal and Real Madrid star Mesut Ozil after his composed finish in the 2-2 draw against Bournemouth.

Palmer opened the scoring with a moment of brilliance, dummied the goalkeeper, and calmly slotted the ball into an empty net.

Speaking on the young star’s cool demeanour, Crouch was full of admiration: “It reminds me of Mesut Ozil a little bit, the calmness, it’s almost too casual, just sits the goalkeeper down,” Crouch said.

He highlighted Palmer’s exceptional poise in high-pressure moments: “The amount of people that get in that position, packed stadium and lash it over the bar or wide. The ability for a young man to stop it, put the keeper down, and roll it into an empty net, that’s what makes him special.”

Palmer’s composed finishing and creativity continue to draw plaudits, marking him as a vital asset in Chelsea’s attacking lineup.
