Chelsea’s decision to recall Trevoh Chalobah from his Crystal Palace loan could pave the way for French defender Axel Disasi to depart the club in the January transfer window, according to journalist Ben Jacobs.

Disasi, who has struggled for form this season, has made just five Premier League appearances and saw his stock fall further after a disappointing performance in Chelsea’s 2-0 loss to Luton Town.

With Chalobah’s return set to further limit his playing time, a move seems increasingly likely.

Juventus are reportedly interested in a loan deal for the 25-year-old, while Newcastle United—who previously targeted Disasi—remain potential suitors.

The potential departure highlights Chelsea’s defensive reshuffle as they look to optimise their squad during the winter transfer window.
