Armando Broja’s loan spell at Everton could be cut short after the striker suffered a serious ankle ligament injury.
The setback comes just months after the 23-year-old recovered from a lengthy layoff, and he is now facing another extended period on the sidelines.
Everton’s head coach, David Moyes, provided an update on Broja’s condition, confirming the severity of the injury: “We think he’s going to be out for somewhere between 10-12 weeks. It’s his ankle ligaments. It’ll probably mean there’s a possibility that he will have to go back to Chelsea.”
Broja joined Everton on loan earlier this season, making his debut on December 4. However, his time at Goodison Park has been underwhelming, with the striker failing to register a single goal or assist in six appearances.
The injury adds another layer of frustration for both Broja and Chelsea, as the player was seeking regular game time to regain his rhythm. His potential early return to Stamford Bridge could complicate the Blues’ squad planning for the remainder of the season.
