Chelsea played out a disappointing 2-2 draw with Bournemouth at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday night.
It was a game Chelsea nearly lost despite scoring the first goal, only to be saved by a late Reece James free kick that went into the net.
Chelsea totally dominated the first-half of the game, but couldn’t score more than a goal, and an early second-half penalty conceded by Moises Caicedo killed the team’s confidence.
Despite Chelsea’s attacking threat and numerous chances, their inability to finish has become a recurring issue.
Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca acknowledged this, saying, “When you don’t create chances and don’t score, then you have to be more concerned. This is the Premier League.”
The draw, while salvaging a point, left the Chelsea boss searching for solutions to their inconsistency.
“I have concerns always, even when we are winning matches,” Maresca admitted, emphasising the need for a sharper, more resilient performance from his squad in the games to come.
