Chelsea have activated a clause to recall Trevoh Chalobah from his loan spell at Crystal Palace, according to The Athletic.
The 25-year-old defender returns to Stamford Bridge with immediate effect as the Blues deal with an injury crisis in their centre-back department. This means Chalobah will not be available for Crystal Palace’s fixture against Leicester City.
Chalobah impressed during his time at Selhurst Park, making 12 Premier League appearances, scoring three goals, and contributing to three clean sheets for the Eagles.
The recall was made possible by a January clause inserted in Chalobah’s loan agreement, allowing Chelsea to bring him back mid-season if needed. His return bolsters Chelsea’s defensive options as they navigate a challenging period.
