Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca reaffirmed his commitment to squad rotation after guiding his team to a comfortable win in their FA Cup third-round clash against Morecambe FC.

Speaking ahead of the match, Maresca outlined his approach to team selection, emphasising the importance of sharing minutes across the squad.

“The target since we started was trying to share minutes between all of them,” Maresca stated. True to his word, the manager fielded a mixed lineup, balancing experience with youth to ensure all players remained involved in the competition.

Reflecting on his strategy, Maresca explained, “We have done it again today. Hopefully, it can be a good day, a win.” His approach paid off, with Chelsea producing a dominant performance to secure their place in the next round.

The manager also underlined the importance of taking things one step at a time, saying, “We start another competition, and we will try to give our best, and then we will see game after game where we go.” This pragmatic attitude highlights Maresca’s focus on steady progress as Chelsea juggle multiple competitions this season.

The victory not only reinforced Maresca’s philosophy but also showcased the depth of Chelsea’s squad, proving that the manager’s rotational approach can yield positive results.
