Chelsea’s 20-year-old midfielder Alex Matos has completed a loan move to Championship side Oxford United for the remainder of the season.

Matos, who joined Chelsea from Norwich City in the summer of 2023, made his first-team debut for the Blues as a substitute against Fulham in October of the same year.

After gaining valuable experience with 20 appearances on loan at Huddersfield Town in the latter half of last season, Matos will now continue his development at Oxford United. The move is expected to provide him with regular playing time in a competitive environment.

Chelsea are set to monitor his progress closely, with the potential for Matos to be integrated into the first team in the future as he continues to hone his skills.
