Former Chelsea star Willian has admitted that he regrets leaving the club in 2020 to join Arsenal. The Brazilian winger departed Stamford Bridge after rejecting a two-year contract extension, as he sought a longer-term deal. Negotiations reached a deadlock, leading to his move to Arsenal on a free transfer.
However, his stint at the Emirates lasted only one year before he returned to Brazil with Corinthians. Willian later returned to the Premier League with Fulham, where in 2023, he expressed his regret about leaving Chelsea.

Speaking to Football Daily on X, he said: “Yeah. I wish I’d never left. Yeah. Of course, it’s easy to say something now, but when I stop and think about the whole situation then, yeah, I say to myself I wish I’d never left. But it’s life. I’m happy now at Fulham—enjoying myself there, so this is life.”
Willian played a pivotal role during his seven years at Chelsea, scoring 63 goals and providing 57 assists in 339 appearances. He is currently a free agent after departing Olympiacos just six months into a one-year deal.
