Chelsea’s quest for a dominant presence up front has been a long-standing topic, with the club hesitating to splash out on a marquee striker in recent transfer windows. 

Despite their summer interest in Napoli star Victor Osimhen, the Blues chose to rely on Nicolas Jackson, backed by Christopher Nkunku and Marc Guiu.

However, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, speaking to The Athletic, has weighed in on the matter. The former Chelsea forward believes the club must sign a “big striker” reminiscent of club legend Didier Drogba to elevate their performances and competitiveness.

Reports suggest Chelsea are already scouting potential targets for the January window. Among them is Liam Delap, whose physicality and potential have caught the club’s attention as a long-term solution.

While the current setup under manager Enzo Maresca has shown glimpses of promise, the lack of a towering striker in the mould of Drogba is a notable gap. With Aubameyang’s comments adding weight to the conversation, it remains to be seen if Chelsea will make the decisive move to bolster their attack.
