Report: Chelsea could offload Axel Disasi for this reason

Chelsea are reportedly planning to sell French defender Axel Disasi during the upcoming winter transfer window, according to Sami Mokbel of the Daily Mail.

The move comes as the club seeks to address tactical inefficiencies under Enzo Maresca, who appears unconvinced about Disasi’s suitability for his system.

Disasi, who arrived at Stamford Bridge with high expectations, has struggled to establish himself in the Premier League. He has made only five league appearances this season, with his last outing—a disappointing 2-0 defeat to Ipswich Town—highlighting his defensive vulnerabilities.

The 25-year-old’s underwhelming performances and lack of adaptability have seemingly prompted Chelsea to explore options for his departure. While the Blues initially saw him as a long-term option in defence, Maresca’s system demands a more dynamic and reliable presence at the back.

Chelsea are now actively seeking potential suitors for Disasi, hoping to recoup a significant portion of the investment made in the player.

The January transfer window could offer the perfect opportunity for both the club and player to part ways, as Disasi may look to reignite his career elsewhere.
