Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has praised Nicolas Jackson’s impressive start to the season but believes the striker still has room to improve.
Jackson has been in decent form, scoring nine league goals so far, making him Chelsea’s first-choice striker and keeping Christopher Nkunku out of the starting lineup.
Speaking ahead of Chelsea’s next match, Maresca acknowledged Jackson’s contributions while challenging the 23-year-old to reach even greater heights.
“He can do many things better,” Maresca said.
“He’s doing very good. As you said, he probably scored nine goals, and last year he scored 14, so he scored most of the goals he scored last year.”
Jackson’s ability to adapt quickly has been a key factor in Chelsea’s attack this season, but Maresca’s comments reflect a desire for continual development.
With nearly half the season remaining, the manager’s words suggest he expects Jackson to surpass last year’s tally and become an even more complete forward.
