Jadon Sancho has shed light on Enzo Maresca’s reaction following Chelsea’s frustrating 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace. The Blues dominated large portions of the match but failed to secure all three points, conceding a late equaliser.
Speaking after the game, Sancho reflected on the team’s performance and shared the manager’s post-match message: “I thought we played quite well and controlled a lot of the game, so it was very frustrating to concede late on. As the manager just said in the dressing room, we just have to kill off the game in the second half.”
Sancho emphasised the importance of taking opportunities to put games beyond doubt: “I think if we got the second goal, we would have been more relaxed, and they would have come out more, and that would have created more space in behind for us. That didn’t happen, unfortunately, so we just have to learn from it and move on.”
The England international was one of Chelsea’s standout performers, setting up Cole Palmer’s goal with a brilliant assist.
However, despite their early lead, Chelsea failed to capitalise on their dominance, allowing Crystal Palace to find a late equaliser and snatch a point.
Sancho’s comments highlight the need for Chelsea to improve their finishing as they aim to bounce back and turn dominance into victories in upcoming fixtures.
