Chelsea’s latest acquisition, Aaron Anselmino, has received high praise from Argentine football legend and Boca Juniors president Juan Roman Riquelme. 

The 19-year-old defender, who joins Chelsea from Boca, is tipped to have a bright future by Riquelme, who believes Anselmino has the potential to reach the pinnacle of the game.

Speaking to ESPN, Riquelme said: “He has developed a lot. With the growth, the head that he has and the desire to learn that he shows, he is on his way to being a great footballer. He is going to be a player for the national team. He is going to compete with the centre-backs.”

This endorsement is a significant vote of confidence in Anselmino’s abilities. His potential has also been acknowledged by Chelsea and Argentina midfielder Enzo Fernandez, who expressed his belief earlier this summer that the young defender can succeed at Stamford Bridge.
