Chelsea Football Club is set to welcome back 19-year-old Argentine defender Aaron Anselmino, who will join Enzo Maresca’s squad immediately after his loan spell at Boca Juniors.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed the development, stating, “Aaron Anselmino returns to Chelsea as he will join Enzo Maresca’s squad with immediate effect from Boca Juniors.

“Argentinian centre back travels to London at the end of this week, ready to join training at Cobham from next week. Decision confirmed.”

Anselmino initially signed a seven-year contract with Chelsea in August 2024 for a reported fee of £15.6 million. As part of the agreement, he remained on loan at Boca Juniors to continue his development.

During his time at Boca Juniors, Anselmino made 18 appearances, contributing two goals and three assists, showcasing his potential as a formidable centre-back.

Anselmino’s early return to Stamford Bridge comes as Chelsea aims to strengthen their defensive options for the remainder of the season.

His arrival adds depth to a young and dynamic squad under Maresca’s management, as the team continues to compete at the highest levels in domestic and international competitions.

The club looks forward to integrating Anselmino into the first-team setup, with training set to commence at Cobham next week. His addition is expected to bolster the defensive lineup as Chelsea pursues its objectives for the season.
