Chelsea are reportedly satisfied with Nicolas Jackson’s performances up front but are exploring the possibility of signing another striker for the 2024/25 season, reports claim.
The club is planning for a return to the Champions League and is keen to add depth to their attacking options, with Ipswich Town’s Liam Delap emerging as a potential target.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano shed light on Chelsea’s plans, stating:
“The expectation is for the summer, in terms of a new striker at Chelsea, something could still happen. It doesn’t mean they are unhappy with Nicolas Jackson, they are very happy with him, he’s doing very well.”
Romano emphasised the importance of strengthening the squad to compete at the highest level next season:
“But Chelsea hope to be back in the Champions League next season so they will need more depth in terms of strikers and so Delap is a player they have been monitoring. He is not the only name, but one to watch.”
With Delap’s impressive performances for Ipswich Town and his previous connection with Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca, he remains a strong candidate for Chelsea’s summer transfer plans as they look to build a squad capable of challenging on all fronts.
