Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca has shed light on Noni Madueke’s absence from the squad during their narrow 2-1 Premier League loss to Fulham.
The Chelsea boss has said he’s expecting a reaction from Madueke.
Addressing the situation, Maresca said:
“Noni Madueke responded very good to being out vs Aston Villa… and I expect the same this time. Competition has to be at the highest level.”
The 22-year-old winger has been a bright spark for Chelsea this season, contributing 6 goals and 4 assists in 18 appearances across all competitions.
Maresca’s comments suggest that Madueke’s exclusion is a reflection of the intense competition within the squad rather than a dip in form, signaling that the coach expects him to rise to the challenge once again.
