Chelsea make decision on whether to recall Raheem Sterling in January amid Mudryk’s absence

Chelsea have reportedly made key decisions regarding the potential January recalls of three players currently out on loan.

While the Blues are not planning to recall Raheem Sterling from Arsenal, they are considering bringing back Lesley Ugochukwu and Leo Castledine, according to The Athletic.

Sterling made a surprising late loan move to Arsenal in the summer but has struggled for game time at the Emirates Stadium. Despite Chelsea’s recent loss of Mykhailo Mudryk due to suspension for a doping violation, the club seems uninterested in recalling Sterling as cover.

Meanwhile, the potential return of Ugochukwu and Castledine could bolster Chelsea’s squad as they aim to address gaps and strengthen depth for the second half of the season.

The decision not to recall Sterling has raised eyebrows given Chelsea’s current challenges in the attacking department, but it reflects the club’s confidence in their existing options or plans to seek reinforcements elsewhere.
