Former Chelsea midfielder Oscar has returned to where it all began, signing a three-year deal with Brazilian club Sao Paulo, the team that launched his professional career.

The 33-year-old spent eight successful years in the Chinese Super League with Shanghai Port, amassing 77 goals and 141 assists in 248 appearances. During his time in China, he secured multiple domestic titles and became one of the league’s most celebrated foreign players after his £60 million transfer from Chelsea in 2016.

Reflecting on his remarkable journey in China, Oscar expressed immense pride in his accomplishments and bid an emotional farewell to Shanghai fans earlier this month.

Now back in Brazil, Oscar sees his return to Sao Paulo as a “homecoming” and is eager to help the club achieve new milestones.

The Brazilian playmaker also enjoyed a stellar career at Chelsea, scoring 38 goals and winning three major trophies. Although he once dreamt of returning to Stamford Bridge, he has now shifted his focus to the next chapter of his career in the Brazilian league.
