Former Chelsea boss Graham Potter has emerged as the leading candidate to succeed Ange Postecoglou at Tottenham Hotspur, according to a Betfair spokesperson.

While Postecoglou remains in charge, his position is under immense scrutiny following Spurs’ humiliating 6-3 loss to Liverpool in north London on Sunday.

The defeat has significantly increased the pressure on Postecoglou, who is now considered the second-favourite to become the next Premier League manager to lose his job. Betfair spokesperson Sam Rosbottom explained:

“Following Tottenham’s 6-3 defeat against Liverpool on Sunday, Ange Postecoglou is now the 3/1 second-favourite to be the next Premier League manager to leave their role, having previously been 14/1 to go next.”

As speculation mounts over a potential managerial change at Tottenham, Graham Potter has been installed as the frontrunner to take over. Rosbottom added:

“Looking at who could be the next permanent Spurs boss, Graham Potter is the 2/1 favourite, with Eddie Howe 9/1 and Brendan Rodgers 12/1 to take over at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.”

Potter, who has been out of work since being sacked by Chelsea in April 2023, is no stranger to the pressures of Premier League management. Hired after an impressive spell at Brighton, Potter’s tenure at Stamford Bridge lasted less than seven months amid reports of losing the dressing room.
