Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca shared his thoughts with the team after a frustrating 0-0 draw against Everton at Goodison Park. Despite being held to a goalless draw, Maresca expressed satisfaction with his side’s performance, emphasizing the challenges of facing a defensively resolute Everton team.

The result meant Chelsea missed the opportunity to leapfrog Liverpool into first place, remaining one point behind the league leaders. However, Maresca found positives in the performance and praised his team for adapting to a different style of play.

“That was a real game,” Maresca said after the match. “I am very happy because the performance of the boys was fantastic.

“Sometimes you have to play a different game, and we are learning to play a different game. They are one of the best teams in Europe in terms of clean sheets.

“I said to the players I was more happy today than [last week’s] game at Brentford [Chelsea won 2-1]. We tried everything.

“For sure, you can always do something better, but we are very happy because this is a tough stadium – not only for us but also in the Premier League.”

Chelsea, the league’s highest scorers this season, struggled to break down a well-organized Everton defense that has consistently proven difficult to breach. However, Maresca’s remarks highlight his belief in the team’s growth and their ability to adapt to challenging circumstances.

The Blues now return to west London with a point and remain firmly in the Premier League title race, with the manager’s encouragement likely serving as a motivational boost ahead of their next fixture.
