Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez has shed light on the factors behind his stunning resurgence at the club, attributing his success to hard work, humility, and a strong team mentality.

The Argentine, who faced a challenging period after losing his place in the team in October, has transformed into one of the Premier League’s standout performers over the past six weeks. During this time, only Mohamed Salah has contributed more goals and assists.

Reflecting on his journey, Fernandez opened up about the mind-set that fuelled his comeback.

“I have been through a lot of difficult moments in my career,” he said. “But I knew that with hard work and humility, I would be able to get back to feeling how I wanted.”

Despite his impressive individual achievements, Fernandez remains committed to the collective effort, emphasizing the importance of supporting his teammates during his struggles. “I always tried to be together with the group and support whoever was playing,” he explained.

The 23-year-old, who played a crucial role in Argentina’s World Cup triumph last year, hopes his perseverance can inspire his Chelsea teammates.

Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca has also lauded Fernandez for his professionalism, describing him as an “example” for the rest of the squad.
