Chris Sutton has tipped Cole Palmer to be the game-changer as Chelsea face Everton at Goodison Park on Sunday.

The Blues head into the fixture on an eight-game winning streak across all competitions, including five consecutive Premier League victories. This impressive run has propelled Chelsea to second place in the league, just two points adrift of leaders Liverpool.

However, Everton are expected to provide a stern test. Despite their 16th-place standing, Sean Dyche’s men have been defensively solid, recording six clean sheets this season—second only to Liverpool’s seven. Four of those have come in their last five matches, including a hard-fought 0-0 draw away at Arsenal.

Goodison Park has been a tough venue for opponents, with Everton unbeaten in their last five home games. While they’ve scored only seven goals during this period, their defence has been watertight, conceding just twice. Dyche’s side will undoubtedly aim to make it a tight contest on Sunday.

Yet Sutton believes Chelsea’s rising star, Cole Palmer, could be the difference-maker. The England international has been in sensational form, tallying 11 goals and six assists in the Premier League this season.

“In FPL, Cole Palmer has some really hot streaks where he picks up lots of points and also some runs where he is much quieter,” Sutton said.

“I am backing him to come good this weekend in FPL and the real thing and play a big part in another Chelsea victory.”
